That game was off the hook last night...

Caught the Magic/Cavs game at my homies' crib...it was definitely playoff caliber basketball. I could get into a lengthy explanation about Kobe/Lebron since I havent done that here yet, but UNLIKE David Stern, I'm going to save that for if and when the finals matchup is Cavs/Lakers.

As for right now, I'll tell ya one thing, Orlando can shoot the fuckin lights out. Dwight's makin his free throws too now? Uh-oh Cleveland. Kinda upsetting too since Lebron is my favorite player in the league, but I wont be distraught if Orlando advances, Im a Dwight fan also (dont call me a frontrunner, my heart is in New York City make no mistake).

Here's a couple pics I took durin the game, messin around with the camera...

I need a new backdrop forreal. lol.

Stay Up.

So I graduated from college on Saturday...

Photobucket

and it was somethin else...

I had been writin for a while about how I was gonna make an entry about life, my future, and my upcoming graduation, but I never got around to it and I think a big reason why was because I didn't want to really sit down and think about it.

Sure you plan for the future, but for (I think) some college grads you don't really wanna face the music, shit I dont. These last 4 years of college I can honestly say were the best 4 years of my life, thus far. Made mad friends, created countless memories, and had experiences I wouldn't trade for the world.

It was just yesterday I was at orientation my freshman year, I swear. I remember bein a quiet kid who had 1 friend there (my homegirl Erina, from highschool, who went to St. John's with me) and who felt like I had no business bein at college, that I wasn't gonna finish my 4 years there. I know having even 1 friend before school even starts is a luxury some people who attend college aren't afforded, but still, shit was difficult. Fast forward to graduation day, where Im finishin with a a minor to go along with my major, and 3.2 gpa and Im giving out hugs, handshakes, daps and congratulations to more people than I can remember. Shit is crazy.

What am I gonna do now? Well, find a job. A couple of my peoples are going to grad school, and God Bless them. That IS the smartest thing to do right now, considering the economy, but I just dont think its for me. I dont know if I could pull it off. Maybe, maybe in a couple years. I wanna see where my head is at, and if I find a company thats willin to pay for me to go back, then I might.

In the meantime, Im applying, sending out resumes, and emailing like its going out of style. My degree is in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration, so ideally, I'd love to land a job in the sports field. That's my preference but we'll see what happens. I interned at the Garden with the Knicks and Rangers my junior year, and that was a great experience, I'd love to do something like that but who wouldn't? I'll keep ya updated if any major developments come up.

Oh and I just wanna tell yall that between me and you, I almost, almost cried on Saturday. When they called my name and I went up on stage to grab the diploma, and at the end when they said the closing prayer, ya boy got teary eyed, Im man enough to admit it. Im sad to close book on the chapter that was the last 4 years in my life, but Im proud of me and my crew for taking advantage of it like we did. I would do it all again in a heartbeat if I could, and to be able to say that means it was time well spent...

Enjoy the pics...

Time is windin' down...real fast...

J Cole - The Warm Up (trailer) from bbgun on Vimeo.

Came across this trailer (yea, a video trailer, lol) for the dude J. Cole's mixtape "The Warmup". He's the cat I mentioned in my last entry that was one of the ones that opened for Wale.

Looks like they tryna drum up some noise for his release. Keep an eye out for him, like I said.

On another note,

Nike just dropped a new shoe called the "Hypermax".
It's reminiscent of the Hyperdunk, mostly because of the flywire on the sides, but make no mistake, this is a better shoe, both from a comfort and a looks perspective. Supposedly it weighs like 2 ounces more than the HD (which is STILL light), but it has a full length air max unit (which instantly made me a fan) compared to the lunar foam in the HD's that eventually bottoms out in all pairs.

These look like they will be a good shoe to ball in, but they also have TREMENDOUS off court appeal. I saw a dude wearin this colorway the other night at the show, and them joints definitely looked purchase worthy. I should be scoopin these sometime in the near future.

Photobucket

Just for good measure, here are the House of Hoops PE colorways that just released.
(right to left - David West, Carlos Boozer, Jermaine O'Neal, and Pau Gasol)

I gotta say the D. West joints go the hardest out of these 4.
Photobucket

And a pic of what might end up being the 2 hardest colorways to obtain for this shoe.
The McFly's and the Tennis Balls. No release info on these yet, and only a couple shots have surfaced but I will definitely keep ya posted. Im tryna get my hands on both if possible, but the tennis ball joints are CRAZY.

Stay Up.

P.s. Graduation is on Saturday (May 16th). Thats right, Im graduatin from college yall. More on that in the next few days. Wish me luck.

DC Chillin, NY Chillin...

Photobucket

So last night I went to the Wale show at Le Poisson Rouge w/ the homies.

To describe it in a word. Tough. (I say dope way too much)

Here's a little recap for yall.

Doors opened at 930, but we got there about 10 to 9, which was a VERY good look cause the line got deep after we got there. We were 2nd in line.
Got in there, and made our way right to the front by the stage.

There were a couple warm up acts, most of which I wasnt feelin, except for this dude J. Cole. Supposedly he jus signed w/ Roc Nation. Dude had some tough bars, but he had different kinda slow down tracks too, not just the regular ole' "Im hungry so I'll eat ya face" type raps. Dudes from North Carolina. Keep an eye out for him.

Colin Monroe performed too. I dont really follow him but it was straight. Joell Ortiz did a guest spot and came on stage for a track w/ him.

Then, damn near 2 hours after the show was supposed to start, Wale finally came out, bottle of Patron in hand lol. Dapped me up when he came out on stage too. Pretty dope I thought (nh). He had on the unreleased Silver 1/2 Cent's. Them joints were too official. Seein em in person made up my mind, Im definitely coppin when they drop.

Dude performed for like an hour...did Chillin (his new single), Waledance, and a bunch of other tracks. Young Chris (in Dmp 11's) and Kid Cudi (in true blue III's) came out durin the performance. Cudi did a quick Day and Night. Wale finished the set with Nike Boots (you know he had to do it).

(Here's a quick vid on the behind the scenes vid shoot for his Chillin single)

Anyway, he signed some shit for the people closest to the stage, before he went off. People started scramblin for shit for him to sign like once he was like yo Imma sign some autographs n shit for yall before I get off stage, lol.
He signed my Attention Deficit poster they had been givin out at the venue. He signed a dudes DC fitted which I thought was dope. My homie B got him to sign a dollar bill.

20 Second time out - Real talk, I was a couple seconds away from elbowin those dumb ass girls behind me all night. Takin dumb ass pictures, yellin like they aint have no damn sense, movin around like they was the only people in the joint. Just had to vent.
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Overall, it was definitely worth the price of admission. Wale put on dope ass show. I have and will continue to support dude. Look for that Back to the Feature mixtape very soon.

Here's two vids from last night, both from my shitty ass video phone camera...
(Took the vids sideways on my phone and I dont know how to rotate em)

First one is the first track he performed.

Second is him on stage w/ Chris and Cudi.

Stay Up.

I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

Photobucket

A little something different today...A great reading from the Bible...

Psalm 23...

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Words to live by, for me at least.

Stay Up and God Bless.

God is Good...All the Time...

So I've been slacking with my posts, YET AGAIN...My bad yall.

I kid you not, I went to go update last night and my comp caught a virus, AGAIN, for the the 2nd time in about 2 weeks.

Not some little b.s. joint where I get mad popups and have to dl a program to have them removed. Im talkin about shit wouldnt let me open up internet explorer and kept directing to some "virus scan" that I had to pay for in order to for the "program" to debug my harddrive. Smh. Got it fixed today though.

So much I wanna blog about...The ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS Bulls/Celtics series thats going on, Mark Sanchez and the Jets, the blk/pink Yeezy release and the STUPID lines that are going on in Nyc right now (in the rain mind you), some Dime mag articles, and my own personal future and whats gonna be goin on in my life in the next few weeks.

I'll get to all that in the next day or two, for now, Im gonna post up a music vid that was on BET as I walked in the door when I got home yesterday. A mini-throwback.

Kanye's "All Falls Down". It will always be a dope track, but listenin to the lyrics some of the lines reminded me of myself (in a good AND a bad way, admittedly).

"I got a problem with spending before I get it
We all self conscious I'm just the first to admit it
"

On a side note, shout to the squad known as "Team Jersey".
We won the intramural basketball league championship on Tuesday. Thats back-to-back-to-back-to-back titles. I got a little emotional when we won, lol, being our last go-round and all.

Photobucket

For us 4 seniors (Me, Jon, B, and Will) its been a long ride, and alotta games together. Shouts to Sekani and Jay for bein integral parts of the team as well. It was fun fellas.

Photobucket

(Pic aint the best but its the best I got, for those of ya that follow the blog but dont know me, from left to right its Jay, Me, B, Jon, Will, and Sekani)
