Stephen A. and Skip on Racism and Ethnic Sensitivity

February 24, 2012
This clip was from Wednesday, February 22nd on ESPN's 1st Take.
No matter your ethnic or cultural background, I think everyone should take a few minutes out to watch this clip.
Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless often incite very debatable arguments on issues in sport but everyone should be able to appreciate what was said in this clip.
Complete truth.

Huarache 2k4 Commercial

Stumbled on to this original Nike Basketball commercial from when the Huarache 2k4's first dropped back in 2004.
Such an amazing shoe, in terms of both form and function. That white/black/red colorway was truly a classic.
Thankfully, they're being retroed this summer. No word yet on if that famous first colorway be re-released but let's hope so.

Jordan 2012 Launch Event

The Jordan 2012 released earlier this month, and the way Jordan Brand unveiled the show was pretty interesting. The had a bunch of media guys and people from the industry flown and driven to Teterboro airport in New Jersey where they had the shoe on display and all the guys got to try it out on the court. I wasn't a huge fan of the design at first but I've actually quickly warmed up to it. I'm looking forward to trying a pair out in near future.

Tinker was at the event also, and spoke about the design and performance of the shoe, as well as answered some questions which you'll see in the video.

Shout to Sneakerwatch.com on the footage.

Bucket List Weekend.
Posted by MikeV at 11:17 AM
January 30, 2012.
I think we all have a "Bucket List", or at least we all should. For some of us it might include sky diving or bungee jumping or visiting Alaska.
I've got a list of a few places I want to go before my time is up, and right at the top of the list was to go see a Duke game at Cameron Indoor Stadium in North Carolina.
Well on Saturday, I went.
My first memory of seeing Duke play basketball was as an 11 year old, watching the Blue Devils lose to UConn in the '99 title game. That stacked squad had Trajan Langdon and Elton Brand, Corey Maggette and Will Avery, Chris Carrawell and Shane Battier. From then on I was hooked.
13 years later I was afforded an opportunity by my girl AB, who I know from our undergraduate days at St. John's, and now goes to Duke Law.
AB, myself, and my former college roommate B are all huge Duke fans, and it just so happens that AB now not only attends Duke but has season tickets for Men's Basketball.
So she pulled some strings, got a couple extra seats to the St. John's game for me, Brian and our other friend Whit and that was that.
And this was it...

The Crazies were in FULL effect.

These were from the Duke Museum upstairs from the court:

To call the campus, the stadium and the museum beautiful is an understatement. The place is amazing.
This one can get crossed off the list.
